Visible Monday: Le Laboratoire du Temps

Whilst in Washington D.C. during the Labor Day weekend, I took a break from rehearsals and went to Chevy Chase, Maryland.  At least that's what the sign post said.  I had to cancel my one-day trip to Chicago whilst in Minnesota because of the family crisis.  So, to make up for that Mr. Cupcake said, "Why don't you take the shopping money you were going to spend in Chicago and spend it in D.C. instead?"

I love me some Mr. Cupcake.

"Oh, and why don't I give you a 100% match?"

Okay, that didn't happen...I'm a would-be fiction writer.  But I did locate one of these in the area:

And so I decided to consult my long list of possible purchases stored on my iPhone.  I did my evaluation, I pondered parting with the money, even though a new scarf was in my Planned Purchases Database for months now, and I decided to go for this:
Le Laboratoire du Temps

I love Spanx
Sweater: Neiman Marcus
Skirt: Lafayette
Watch: Omega
Scarf and ring: Hermes

Prada kitten heels from ebay - I think I paid $20

Don't miss what all the other fabulous ladies are wearing at Not Dead Yet Style's Visible Monday!

  1. Lovely !
I cannot wear Spanx, as they cut off my circulation. If I could believe me I would!

    1. Spanx is for my bottom half...I wouldn't wear a pencil skirt without one!

  3. Oh, you should be booking a trip to Paris. Your wardrobe is so ready! I second Patti's comment -- you will not tire of that gorgeous scarf.

    1. If you mean Paris, Texas, then that is easily arranged. :-) I was thinking about other colors (greens, purples, reds), but I fear I will forever be "the girl in the blue scarf". Maybe it will be my signature color.

If I had the chance, I'd go to Paris (in France) in a second!!!

  4. Well done, Rebekah. The colors are perfect. Is it silk twill or more of a light weight silk? Can wait to see it on you! Will have to stop in to H while in London town. Also the Jo Malone flagship store. Cheers.

    1. Silk twill. I've been the Hermes in London off of Bond Street, and it is a gorgeous store! Do get a Twilly and a signature Jo Malone fragrance.

    1. I had been meditating on this design since I first saw it on MaiTai and when I reviewed the A/W collection online. I actually wanted the 24 Fauborg, but the only color they had was orange. So, I went for the blue tones in this scarf instead.

I don't want to schill, but I just love the craftsmanship of Hermes!

  6. This is my kind of stylin'! You look great. BEAUTIFUL new scarf...love those colors and design.

In the book "How To Look Expensive", Spanx are highly applauded. I wear them too when the outfit calls for it.

    1. Ah, thank you. I hate to say this, but blubbering fat out of your skirt or shirt does not equate to chic. If you have thigh blubber like I do, then Spanx it. In the paraphrased words of Dolly Parton's character from Steel Magnolias, "My thighs haven't been outside unless they were encased in lycra since I was 14."

  10. Ah, the sweetness of one well-chosen scarf from an entire season's collection! Ohh, the groan of she who wished they'd chosen that one instead.

As one blue-scarved girl to another, rock it around the clock. A real all-seasoner with taupe, grey, black, white, denim.

    1. Merci, pusswillow. I'm owning the blue scarf collection because scarves are meant to flatter your face! As I think about it, the main accent color in my house is blue, too.

And I love how blue perks up my petite collection of gray clothing - a color I adore and in which I look terrible. Thank you, blue scarf.

  11. Oh Rebekah my dear, that is exactly the scarf I tried on this morning at Hermes Wall St. and in the same colorway. And I too have a wardrobe mostly of gray, and black, and navy. If I end up buying this scarf Hermes should give you a cut because you put it in my head! The design is so beautiful and I love the contrast trim. XO, Jill

    1. I'm really drawn to scarfs with lines and squiggles versus flowers. We must be drawn to the same type of art and other fashion trends. In any case, I think the world demands a photo of the two of us wearing these scarves should either of us be in the same geographic vicinity.

Did you see this design in the other colorways? They are beautiful, but not flattering on me. I am proudly a blue scarf girl!
